This is a brief sketch of those rights which fourteen hundred years ago Islam gave to man, to those who were at war with each other and to the citizens of its state, which every believer regards as sacred as law. On the one hand, it refreshes and strengthens our faith in Islam when we realize that even in this modern age which makes such loud claims of progress and enlightenment, the world has not been able to produce just and more equitable laws than those given 1400 years ago. On the other hand it hurts one's feelings that Muslims are in possession of such a splendid and comprehensive system of law and yet they look forward for guidance to those leaders of the West who could not have dreamed of attaining those heights of truth and justice which was achieved a long time ago. Even more painful than this is the realization that throughout the world the rulers who claim to be Muslims have made disobedience to their God and the Prophet as the basis and foundation of their government. May God have mercy on them and give them the true guidance.
Hajj is a pilgrimage to the sacred House in Mecca where you find the Kaba. This is the focal point and direction of prayer five times a day for Muslims all over the world. The location of Mecca is in Saudi Arabia . Mecca is also found in the Old Testament of the Bible, referred to by its ancient name of Bekka. This is not to be confused with the place in modern day Jordan by the same name.
When it is hard being a Muslim : By Khadija Watson
Now days it is not easy being a Muslim. It means that one must know their religion which is not only knowing who Allah is but also knowing how to live Islam everyday. Allah has not only left us with the holy Quran but also the example of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He (Allah) says in the Holy Quran: "It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed into a plain error." (Surah Al-Ahzab: 36)
My brothers and sisters everywhere! You should know that the Messenger, Muhammad the son of `Abdullah (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) is Allah's Messenger in reality and truth. The evidences that show his veracity are abundant. None but an disbeliever, who out of arrogance alone could deny these signs.
We believe in the resurrection, which is Allah's bringing to life all those
who have died, and when Israfil shall blow the horn for the second time: "And the trumpet shall be blown, and all who are in the heavens and who
are in the Earth shall fall down fainting, except those that Allah shall spare.
Then, it shall be blown again and they shall rise gazing around them"
(39:68). People will arise from their graves, answering the call of the Lord
of the universe. They will be barefooted, naked, and uncircumcised: "As
We started the first creation, so We shall bring it back again. A
promise from Us, so We shall assuredly fulfill it" (21: 104).
Many people fast for various reasons, fasting is not new nor exclusively only to Muslims. Hindus fast, Christians fast, non-religious people fast for a variety of health reasons. Actually, fasting is good for the body as it rids the body of harmful toxicins.
