Abdullah bin Khubaib narrates that one dark, gloomy, rainy night, we came out in search of Rasulullah (P.B.U.H.). When we finally found him he said to us: "Read!" We asked: "What must we read?" He replied: "Recite Surah al Ikhlas - Surah al Falaq - Surah an Nas - 3 times in the morning and evening. It will suffice for you against all evil things Mishkat P.188(witchcraft, blackmagic, mischief of jin, etc.)."
A myth that western culture believes is that Islam teaches oppression of women. A woman’s youth, clothes, habits, marriage, motherhood, etc, are all in subjugation. This is hideously false. Islam teaches that a woman’s role in the house is that of royalty, dignity and respect. Sadly many Muslims adopting customs native to their birthplace, have shown their bad habits and mannerisms as representative of Islam whereas this is not the case.
Actions performed by the prophet (P.B.U.H.) recommended by
him and even those actions which were performed in his
presence which did not meet his disapproval are known as
the sunnah. His ideology and mannerism are also
understandably termed as the sunnah.
In the ahadith reference is made of the merit, praise and glad tidings of virtuous women. Ahadith of the beloved Nabi (P.B.U.H.)regarding the respect, partiality and consideration to be shown to them and whose study is equally necessary for pious men whereby they may recognize and appreciate the rights of their wives. By fulfilling their rights, one can attain the pleasure of this world and the next. Women, too, should make this true and natural religion, which has given them a distinct place and honour, completely theirs.
Certain Islamic laws are directed exclusively at women. But these same laws are what women are not aware of, not because of ignorance but because of modesty and shyness, which prevent them from asking others about these laws. Unfortunately, men also pay very little attention to such laws, because they are not affected by them directly. Thus, these laws have been compiled in the form of a booklet under separate headings. Such a booklet is greatly needed.
