  RAMADAN - The real meaning

  THE TRUTH ABOUT ISLAM!

Many people fast for various reasons, fasting is not new nor exclusively only to Muslims. Hindus fast, Christians fast, non-religious people fast for a variety of health reasons. Actually, fasting is good for the body as it rids the body of harmful toxicins.Why do the Muslims fast? First of all it is a command from Allah (God) to the believers: Oh you who believe! Observing As Saum (fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun. (pious) (Quran Chapter 2,Verse 183) The importance of Ramadan includes that revelation of all scriptures were either given in whole or started in Ramadan. Abraham was given a book the 1st day of Ramadan, Moses was given the Torah the 6 th day, Jesus was given the gospel (not the bible) the 13 th day , the Psalms on the 18 th day and Muhammad was given the first revelation of the Holy Quran on the 25 th day of Ramadan. This is why the Muslims recognize the religion of the Jews and Christians, because it is the same God, Allah who gave the same revelation to all the Prophets, (Peace and Blessing be upon them all).Read full article...

Islam is not a new religion but the final culmination and fulfillment of the same basic truth that God revealed through all His prophets to every people. A way of life symbolized by peace-peace with God, peace within oneself, and peace with the creations of God through submission to God and commitment to His guidance. Muslims believe that it is the same truth that God revealed through all His prophets to every people. For a fifth of the world’s population, Islam is not just a personal religion, but a complete way of life.

Islam is a qualitative term – the quality of accepting God’s supreme authority above one’s own. As such, being a Muslim does not mean having to give up one’s culture or traditions; rather it means adopting the simple and logical principles of Islam to better one’s life and attain peace.
